Whats the consensus on Look bikes? Worth the premium?
A Look 675 is on my shortlist but being a little niche (expensive) I have no real world experience of them as a brand.
Looking for something quick but comfortable.
Thoughts on the stem detail?
May take a trip to Epic Cycles and find out a bit more.

My mate has two, one is a 675, one is built as a single speed and the 675 as a race bike (it does get kept for special), he has a Lemond for regular and winter cycling. He talks of the Looks very highly - he would be very honest if he was not happy with them.

I've looked at the 675 a lot, I cant afford it but did loads of research regardless! The two things worth noting, Look were one of the first bike companies to start working with carbon fibre, they have twenty plus years of experience and the frames are said to ride superbly.
This is largely because they build their bikes differently to many other manufacturers who build front and rear triangles, called boomerang frames apparently?!, then bond them together. The "boutique" brands like Look and Cippolini build frames with fibres stretching unbroken from the head tube right down to the seat stays. By all accounts, this method means the frames are responsive, stiff and comfy. The frame absorbs lots more road buzz as a result and it's a superb all day ride. Now it could all be marketing guff but the logic makes sense but regardless of the science, i think it's stunning, If i could afford me I'd buy one tomorrow!
Other stuff, the stem can be flipped and you can always use spacers.

Look are French so Campy would be in keeping with the Euro spec but Ultegra/Dura-Ace is so reliable.

Campag wears in, everything else wears out. Simply a case of Cotton or Silk. Sure, cotton is durable ( so is Durace) but a little boring may be? Your choice at the end of the day, I mean both wiggo and Froome won a tour each on shimano, so it can't be that bad ha ha! But to look at?
I grew up lusting and I do mean lusting after Campag Delta brakes and the C Record groupset. Once you have seen this everything else becomes a little......lack lustre.
Epic Cycles in Ludlow are probably your best bet... buy one, tell me how good it is and then convince me I can afford it!
