Best Rides in The Lake District

A small group of us are heading up to Keswick mid May for a weekend away. Hope to get a couple of decent rides in whilst there.

Any must do rides, climbs, passes or viewpoints I need to do whilst there. Plotting a few routes on Garmin but would welcome any suggestions, ideally around the Derwentwater area.

Road bikes, nothing too epic, circa 60km.

Keswick-Borrowdale-Honister-Buttermere-Stair-Keswick
Probably 50-60 kms but a fairly tough route.

Its hard to do circular routes taht take in Hardknottt or Wrynose Pass from memory. You could look at the Fred Whitton sportive route and see what you can cut from that to make it shorter and loop round.

I did a loop around around Buttermere and Derwent water last year, taking in Whinlatter Pass and Honester Pass. Around 30 Miles, 2700Ft of climbing which took around 2hrs 30 with a couple of stops.
