which sat nav?

Hi guys, in august im due to cycle to Spain for charity. The route is basically manchester-plymouth-santander-Valencia. I am doing this trip for my nan who died from lung cancer so all proceeds will be going to Christies where she received her chemo. I need help choosing a sat nav for the trip,obviously needs to be reliable and include Europe,good battery life etc. I will be doing around 60-70 miles a day. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The garmin 800 is good for mapping and is not too expensive now. Get the basic unit and download the maps for free, I think it's called openstreetmaps.

Not sure on battery life as Ive not done more than 4 hrs with it but it's noticeably more power hungry than the 500, as you'd expect I guess. I think you can buy piggy back battery packs for it.

Battery will be fine, as long as you're not always on the maps or have brightness turned up, I have had mine on for 15 hours and it still had about 25% left.
