Is it just me or has this forum become a "what bike should I get next?" thread.
I have got £1k to spend, £2k to spend, six quid to spend blah blah! What MTB, ATB, SS, Fixed, blue, red, green bike should I get?
I mean don't get me wrong, forums are great for sharing tips and advice but really! People are not even looking at the rest of the posts. I am sure people are going to fire back saying this that and the other but......it's boring and all a bit lazy on the parts of the OPs.

Anyway....on a slightly more positive note, I am off to give the missus one and was just going to ask "what position should I use tonight?" I have only got 9 mins, haven't done as much training as I would have hoped, my best mate reckons doggy but a guy in a shop in a town on a forum told me spoons, was wondering what everyone else thought?

Happens a lot in general gassing. I've got £5k to spend and I've done fk all research. Can you please recommend me a car.

Happens a lot on forums. Not much you can do about it.

As for later on, how about doggy smile

Well yes, I am here right now and funnily enough in doggy position, but really need to know what everyone else thinks! I was also going to post up some pics but......first need to start a "what camera should I get whilst doing my missus" thread.
Aaaaaaarrrghhh all this thinking for myself is killing me, opps and now I can't get it up.....I know I'll start a " so how do you get it up" thread!

GoPro? Good wide angle lens.

It's not just the bikes either. I've got a bike, should I go 105 or ultegra, whats the difference between the two. I've heard he ultegra is lighter and smoother.

The fact that the difference between the two is probably a good poo as far as grams are concerned is completely missed by the OP.

All that said, one of my favourite threads, it's still running by the way, "how do you get cycle fit without cycling?"
WHHHAATT! And people are responding!
I was going to respond with, hmmmm? Try laying on your back, hold a cucumber or courgette, like a handlebar and pedal in thin air for ohhhhh? Five to six minutes a day, Chris Froome is doing it and he got it from Cancellara.
I resisted just in case the OP tried to sue me because the cucumber turned his gel gloves green.

We were all newbies once and buying a bike can be a bit daunting, lots of choice, no idea whats good or bad, wil la shop rip me off and sell me a biff bike etc etc so the "what bike shall i get" threads are pretty harmless (though annoying when my superior recommendations get shot down because the peasants dont appreciate a good deal when they see one!). It makes for a nice community sort of thing and spending other peoples money is all I can do now pablo jr is imminent.....

I like what car/bike threads, theyre informative and its like buying something vicariously through someone else.

Im always egging on the chaps at work to change cars as it satisfies my purchase urges for a time.

O.p- Try reverse cowgirl with an inverted triple salko to finish.

Can't help with the 'What bike' question, nor do I have any advice for cleaning such threads off the forum.

Position-wise, it has to be "standing, unsupported". If you can't manage that it means either...

a) You're a bit of a knacker

or

b) Your beloved needs to lay off the sausage rolls

Hope that helps wink

+1 to each of the above 3 posts

I avoided road bikes for years as I always thought the level of smugness associated with them wasnt something I could relate to

In fact I have now completely embraced the dark side but your average roadie remains a smug git

I understand fat lasses can only do it doggy so your mates spot on - has he had a go too? smile

Doggy is so last year. Spice it up a bit and go for the Alabama Hotpocket.

Whilst I can find it slightly annoying at the same time they may have searched but in 3 months since the question was last asked for that type of bike a lot will have changed. I know certainly from when I started looking for my bike to buying my bike 29" was suddenly everywhere since buying my bike 27.5" is everywhere.

Well when I posted in a what bike thread I was sent a link to the bike I now ride. Sometimes it's handy to find any good deals that another PHer might have seen.

Kind of what forums are for isn't it?

If she is on the large side, and you insist on last seasons 'doggy' then invest in a can of talc (any brand will do, don't need a big budget either, couple of quid should do it - ASDA, Tesco, ALDI etc all do them but Waitrose is probably best as it is quite a nice brand).

Grab a handful of talc and chuck it towards the 'love area' before you go in, it will help locate the damp patch and save time so you can get back to the forums to canvas opinions if you should be drying off on the curtains, covers, flannel in the bathroom or just drip-dry.....

This.

It's a good thing - means people are getting into cycling or upgrading. And they go in cycles, mostly spring and after-the-Tour.

I bought my bike in 2007 and it now has not one single original part!
So I'm not big on the "what new bike" threads... They do get a bit dull just like the leasing threads for cars.
