I was considering doing this but having driven some of the route this afternoon in driving sleet and high winds I think I might give it a miss, 'specially looking at the forecast for the morning and the amount of standing water already on the roads!

Don't get me wrong I like a challenge, but 20mph winds and driving rain combined with a forecast temperature topping 4' on some of the more exposed parts of the Chilterns is a recipe for a chest infection and few days in bed!

I might venture out on the road bike later in the day if it calms down....

Did anyone have a bash? I went for a quick bimble on Sunday morn and gave up after an hour, it was miserable.

Nope, got up, looked out of the window, went back to bed! Decided to ride later in the day and got caught in an Armageddon storm - sleet, extremely high winds - so bad I actually gave up 1/2 way and called the missus to pick me up, never bailed on a ride before!

Didn't do that ride but went for a 3 hour mtb ride in the chilterns. I've never been so cacked in mud by the end of a ride. The ground in fact is no longer muddy, rather it is a form of slurry.

IT WAS SUPERB!
