Bear in mind that when that photo was took, there'd have been no smooth tarmac neither. Nor a 4x4 with a support team and plenty of fluids, etc. Having said that, getting from London to Lyon and back in 24 hours would've been a non-starter too, so we're not really able to make any meaningful comparison between 'then and now'.I'm not sure what would be harder?

It was myself and 2 mates that conceived and executed on this adventure. As its Pistonheads, I think we need some car related element here, we completed the whole thing in a 12yr old Toyota Landcruiser. It was the cameraman Ian's car. It didn't miss a beat and went like a train both there and back. I now want one so badly!
Always up for a challenge, so if you guys have any ideas then we'll take a look at them for the next one!
