Which XC Wheels

Just had my bike mechanic tell me to replace my wheels. Resisting the urge to buy a new bike as I still like my 07 Stumpjumper full suss.
Are these ok? Ride in the peaks. Only once a week. Seem good vale. Assume I need 135 717's.

Funnily enough I am selling probably the best xc wheels you can get (in my humble opinion of course!)

A pair of mavic crossmax slr's bought in may 2013 for £800. Open to offers... Probably covered around 300 miles. Near new condition.

Shimano XT hubs + Mavic XC717 or XM719 rims from Merlin Cycles. All the XC wheel you'd ever need: _quality_ components knitted together properly.

I've got XM719's on Hope Pro Evo II hubs. Have been faultless on my carbon hard tail over the last year. Depends on your budget I suppose.

Hope Hoops are a nice lightweight setup.

Or Stan's Rims, with a Hope sealed hub.

I've had a few wheels with an XT hub. They're not as sealed and I wouldn't go back.

They're fine: you need to keep on top of maintenance, but you're rewarded by a lot less seal drag.

My bro has these on his Scott Genius MC Ltd. They are incredible. I wish I could afford to buy them off you. Total overkill for my Whyte 901 but as aspirational items go, these are at the top of the list.

Default choice = hope hoops, ProIIs with stans crests.

To square the balance of cash/strength/maintenance/weight there is really is little to touch em.

Always deals out there and with a bit of quidco/topcashback they can be had for a good price.

I batter mine and they are still running 100% perfect 18 months later

I'd definitely agree with this, all my bikes run Hope hubs and Stans rims (Crests or Iron Cross). Never had a problem with a wheel yet and all still running true after plenty of abuse

I've run these for two years, with tubeless tyres, no issues and no flats! Great value wheel set.

I run Hope Pro 2's with Mavix 819UST. They've taken 18 stone of me very very well for the last 21 months. They've done a week in Les Gets, uplift day at Antur Stiniog along with various other trail centres plus the weekly ride round Bedgebury.
Brilliant in my opinion.
