Just seen this on Bike Radar and know a few of you like to check it out, seems they have gone upmarket with the performance range!

The stuff this time looks a bit better quality, I will be going for the base layers and maybe a jersey as a spare.

I have the jacket, its the best £15 I have spent on anything (this version is a couple of quid more).I'm quite interested in a jacket.
It keeps the wind out, fits really well (I am very tall with long arms so normal jackets are impossible to find). Keeps a shower out and is not to boil in the bag.

Is it just the one by me or does every Aldi seem to be struggling to sell their 'specials' lately?
The central aisle at my local store is piled high with the previous deals, it's even spilling out onto the walkway.
They have most of the kit from the last couple of bike weeks still there and I'm sure that after this week it is going to be crazy in there, it's like a huge jumble sale!

Decathlon stuff is pretty good actually - tried some of it on last time I was there. I bought the "performance" trousers. I really wanted another set of the winter trousers I bought from Aldi previously - they're still going strong over a year later but when they're in the wash I am rather stuck. So, bought the performance trousers which were double the price of the winters (winters no longer available in my two local shops).
The performance trousers are not quite as warm but they're decent enough. They are more flexible, probably because they are not quite as thick, so they are comfy to wear.
I'll be out in them over the weekend for 2-3 hours, so I'll see just how warm they keep me.
Incidentally, I'm short and fat, with short legs. I usually need a 38 waist 29 leg. The L size winters I had previously fit perfectly - probably fit better if I had 30 legs but they're OK. The performance trousers are a shade longer but I'll manage.

I happened to go into Aldi on Friday without knowing or seeing this and was pleasantly surprised, the kit seemed much nicer and better made than anything I've seen in there previously. However they had nothing remotely my size left but I mentioned it to my wife who went in there on a Sunday and found they'd restocked so she bought a pile of bits which I tried and returned the unwanted stuff.
The sizing is hilarious... the "Jacket" (which doesn't seem to be a Jacket) just fitted me in XL, the "Shirt" which seemed more like a Jacket was alittle bit big but usable in a Large!
The baselayers followed the Jackets sizing, XL being L and so on.
The Bib Tights where totally random, the Large was larger than the XL but the Medium was about 46x smaller again :-) The Large ones fitted me but I'm unsure about keeping them, the location of the rather thin pad seemed abit too far forwards, if that makes sense?
Oh, the socks seem ok... but who could get socks wrong?
It might not be Rapha but if you want a pile of stuff because you commute or ride regularly the tops are good everyday use items IMO

I found one negative to the jacket at the weekend. It is very good at blocking the wind, however, after an hour or fairly fast effort I was getting quite hot. I unzipped it 3/4 of the way down, it caught the wind and turned into a parachute, the air couldn't escape because it is designed to block the wind. Think it took about 5MPH average of the rest of my ride.
