Which sealant?

Shock horror but I've kinda lost touch with trail ridingl over the past few years. Combination of living in flat old Warwickshire, spending time with roadies, other hobbies and the faff of loading up the bikes has meant that my Fuel EX7 and the missus' Trance have been gathering cobwebs at the back of the man shed for a couple of years. Also been doing some very occasional "natural" riding around Wales on hard tails instead. However the ebay purchase of a Thule towbar rack has meant that we've actually done two trail centres in 3 week on the FS bikes, and loved it. Although single speeding seems to have died out, hardtails seem not far behind, and everyone is riding huge wheeled bikes now, and bizarrely more people are without helmets?

However my Fuel tyres are now leaking air badly...I guess the Super Juice has gone funny over the past couple of years. The tyres are 2.3 Bonty Jones tubeless, on Bonty Race Disc rims, with the plastic rim tape.

Question, is it better to stick with the Bonty Super Juice, or is Stan's better? I do remember the actual rubber of the sidewalls getting very leaky on the 7 stanes a few years ago and the Juice not being much cop?

Or is there some new wonder product that's come out?

Erm, after riding near mine and getting 3 flats in one ride I went tubeless, and have not punctured since, in 3 years of active riding (not including the shed hibernation)

Now back to the original question!

I've converted my 29er full suss to run tubeless and saved a massive 252g total (measured on scales). However I don't get pinch flats anymore and can run at 25psi easily which gives massive traction. Using stans no tubes milk stuff and specialized rims and tyres.

My Ragley 26in hardtail which is kind of set up for downhilling uses thick tubes and I use 30psi and been fine so far.

i always take an appropriate tube out when I go anywhere whatever bike I use as I have ripped sidewalls before and they don't seal. However I recently purchased a weldtite tubeless repair kit so I'm waiting for the next rip on my 29er to try it out!
