Think I bought a stolen bike

Lads I got a second hand mtb bike off eBay but it just doesn't seem to ride right
I can't find the serial no and it looks nothing like the newer years models

Where would the frame no be on it?

The frame number will be under the bottom bracket (under where the pedals are).

Why would it being plasticky make you think it is stolen?

Additional bit of info from google - specialized frame numbers generally start with WUD, STT or STE".

I'm not sure how buying a cheap, used bike that was probably not maintained correctly means it is stolen.
