Eyes watering!!!!!!

Been commuting since April this year doing a 20 mile round trip. It's not been a major issue so far but I'm finding that as the weather gets colder my eyes are streaming for most of the journey to and from work. I wear glasses, cannot get on with contacts, so anybody any ideas/suggestions other than skiing/Biggles type goggles to help stop this.

Any advise appreciated.

Slightly more wraparound glasses maybe?

I'm guessing you're on a road bike so goggles would look rather odd.

This. I've got a pair of wraparound reactions glasses that I wear in all conditions. They keep the wind out in cold weather, tint nicely in the sun and they look normal enough to wear during the day at work too.

Wrap arounds is the answer, and I noticed it for the first time last night! In fact last night was the first time since about March when I dug out my knickers and Evo intermediate jacket - even those were a bit chilly once the sun went down!


Also, now it is getting cold I find that the cold air on my chest has me coughing for about 1/2 an hour once I get home....

Do you need your glasses on for riding? If not then I'd suggest getting some wrap-around style shades (I use some safety specs from work) and keep your normal glasses in your pocket until you get to work.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I do need to wear my glasses for cycling and wondered if anyone had found something that would fit over the top of thin frame, rimless glasses but it looks like I'll have to go down the prescription wrap around route.

Or a strip of gaffer tape along each arm of the glasses to close the gap between them and his face.

I recently bought some cheap glasses (I thought on Amazon, but I can't find my order) - but was massively surprised by how good they are.

They have a plastic insert that clips into them that allows you to fit prescription lenses.

It would mean getting more lenses made up to fit though.

They're FreeSoldier glasses and I paid about £16.

Looking at the part number they say FS0089.

Edit: found the link and they're even cheaper.

Is there a correct name or description for the yellow lenses than enhance the light in low-light conditions.

My mate calls them happy-land glasses but he used to be a raver.

If we're suggesting Oakley's can I suggest the ott's. I'm sure they'd keep the wind out good. A little pricey perhaps and would have to be secondhand but then you can't make an omelette without breaking wind.
