Brake problem

I changed my back tyre yesterday and must of touch the brake lever so i had to seperate the disk pads to be able to fit the wheel back on now the brake aint working as it did theres more pull in the lever and the brake is'nt as good

What can you see? The retaining spring & pad tops should be visible & secured by the retaining bolt & the pads should move slightly when you brake. Really there is very little room for the pads to move at all in a disc brake set up so any misassembly should be obvious on a visual inspection.

Saying that, I replaced my front pads yesterday & managed to misalign the retaining spring which subsequently bent & scored one pad. Really if you have no braking at all, you should remove the wheel & satisfy yourself that everything is lined up correctly or take it to the LBS for them to sort but it's really not a complex thing to service.

The brake still works but not as good as it was im having to pull my brakes hard for it to work and the stopping power as been reduced were before id only need to pull my lever half way and the stopping powerwould be great

The pistons are having to move further to apply the brakes, so logically the pads must be mis-aligned. You're going to have to get in there for a looksee.

Well ive fixed them took wheel off and pressed lever a few times put wheel back on and there working again thanks for your help pal
