So, I was impressed with how quickly someone refilled a tube using co2 whilst on a club ride today. I (and everyone else) was less impressed by how long it took me to inflate using my mini morph. So much so that I borrowed a co2 from someone else in the end.

I'd like a pump/ co2 inflator combo. One guy on my ride had one of these:

Which looked good. Is there anything else to consider?

Hmmm. Once you screw in the cartridge, you're left with it poking out the side like that until it's empty. Which would be annoying.

They're one use, aren't they?

Kinda. Running 25mm tyres, I find I get one-and-a-shot out of each if used in fairly quick succession (once punctured, they'll lose gas over a few days). I wouldn't fancy unscrewing one whilst still 1/2 - 1/3 full!

There are a couple of 'controllable' trigger units for CO2 cartridges, and I believe Lezyne do one that is combined with a pump, so that if you get multiple punctures and have run out of gas, you can still inflate your tyres.

I'm a big fan of Lezyne kit, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it based on my experience with their 'Road Drive' pump and the under-saddle tool pack. It's a little more pricey than some competitors, but worth it in my opinion

Another Lezyne fan here - use their mini track pump, and it's fantastic. That notwithstanding, I have a Bontrager Air Rush Road Mini-pump/CO-2 inflator. The pump (all metal, really nice) is small enough tuck away in a jersey or saddlepack, and the co2 release is controllable with a dial. Comes with 2 carts.

It's a nice piece of kit - http://www.totalcycling.com/a-z/pumps/mini_pumps/P...
