Tyres for the Breacon Beast.....suggestions?
Discussion
In a moment of utter madness I signed myself up for the Breacon Beast in September this year - training is going well, roughly 5,000 miles on my road bike and about 300 on the MTB - doh!
Anyhow, I have never ridden the Breacon's before and have no idea what the surface is like, but believe it is a mix of loose gravel, a few rocky bits and a few sandy bits.
Has anyone ridden the Beast before, and if so can you suggest a set of tyres? I am currently running a set of Alberts, seem to be good all rounders but not sure if they are 'right' for the terrain of the Breacons?

I haven't ridden the Beast, but I have ridden in the area, my boss did the beast a few years ago, it's long, but not massively technical - I'd go for some fast rolling xc rubber if it's dry (which it won't be) or a good all-rounder if it's wet, you won't need spikes or anything massive wide and grippy.
