Just spotted this as a BBC news flash thing on my News App. Sad news. No more details at the moment.

It's very rare to hear of a Mountain Biker being killed thankfully, which is something that has always surprised me given the number of riders getting some serious injuries.

BBC said:
A mountain biker has died after falling up to 80ft (24m) in the Peak District in Derbyshire.

Volunteers from Kinder Scout and Glossop mountain rescue teams were called to Laddow Rocks on Black Hill, north of Crowden, on Sunday morning.

The teams, along with the North West Air Ambulance and a police helicopter, spent six hours attempting a rescue but the man died.

The 46-year-old from West Yorkshire had been cycling with friends.

Neale Pinkerton, of Kinder Mountain Rescue, said: "Unfortunately the rider did not survive the fall. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to his family and friends."

Laddow Rocks is an exposed outcrop of sheer rocks in a location popular with walkers, cyclists and climbers.
