My son, just 16, completed his first 10.2 mile TT last Wednesday night on his Cannondale CAAD10 using Mavic Ksyrium SL's, so not the most aero of wheels, and he did it in 25.54, giving an average of 23.6 mph. Is that quite a good time as he was the quickest in our club beating mid twenty year olds and more seasoned riders.

Yes. When I was that age (i'm now over double that age)I was doing 28minutes on quite a hilly course with regular spokes wheels.

It depends on the course, and the standard of the club.

That would have been the 12th fastest of 16 at our club ten on Tuesday for instance on what is a fairly slow course.

For a young lad on a road bike its certainly good going, anything around 25 mins on a roadbike is a good ride, and certainly could be improved with more aero aids.

As above it depends on the course but it's a good first effort, He'll probably be able to knock a bit off that by just getting more familiar with riding TTs. Does he do a lot of cycling?

Yes he does ride a lot and races in the Youth A category. He's only been riding for 14 months and only racing for 4 months.

The TT course was fairly flat with only 279ft of elevation.
