Well, as per the title, I'm currently still alive, despite mixing up a bottle from this tub of powder twice this week.

Tuesday and Thursday, I scooped out a large 'rock' or two of powder, added the water and shook vigorously to mix. Then I gave it the sniff test, the taste test, and, satisfied that it neither smelled nor tasted too bad, I necked it during a ride.

Only now, the tub is empty, so I take it to the blue bin, and happen to glance at the 'Use By' date, and see this...

...so it's "only" ten months out of date, and the side of the tub also says "consume within 4 weeks of opening". I haven't used it since last October. I'm going to pull through, right? I feel OK.

By the way, it was a tub of this...

Get to bed, grumpy, or your gonna get the parrot wink

There was meant to be humour in that post. FWIW, I knew it was out of date before I used it. You could kinda tell by the large boulders the powder had formed itself into.

In a subtle way, I was trying to make a joke about silly 'Use By' dates, and how the world doesn't end when you ignore them. My Kellogs Nutri-Grain bars are past their best too, but I've not yet suffered any ill effects. I'm damned if I'm going to waste food throwing it in the bin when it's still edible.

Still, I've had to explain it now, so the humour has gone. All thanks to "Mr Tired'n'Grumpy" Disco You.

Are you always this grumpy, or is it just when you stay up late?

It's a Best Before Date, not a Use By Date. Recently picked up some tubs of viper active from LA Fitness for £10 a tub because it was approaching date, bargaintastic.

When raciing I always used to have the massive tubs of GO and REGO. My mate asked me if Id seen the use by date? Wed bought at the same time and bough loads to get a lot of discount. The last unopened 5kg tub was a year out of date and the stuff I was actually using was 11 months out of date, probvably the reason why I never did well racing. This out of date stuff was holding me back! wink
