tour question

sorry if this has been done to death, but I was watching the tour the other day and the commentator said about Wiggins and Fromme falling out. and i was just wondering if anything was said or are they just guessing?
I'm not sure what everyone thinks but I thought that even if Fromme was allowed to go on the hills I don't think he would have made up enough time to beat Wiggins anyway.
I think last years tour suited Wiggins very well.

IMO Froome would have put enough on Wiggo over three weeks to win the tour last year if he was allowed to go, he was already sulking after the 2011 Vuelta which is where the bad feelings began. Froome only lost in 2012 by 3:21 and that was largely through TTs. Yes the 2012 tour suited Wiggo well, over 100kms of TT meant he could put a good deal of time on the rest and Wiggo had trained hard to improve his overall ability to cope well in the mountains. As its also been said, the field wasnt the strongest in 2012 but you can only compete against the other people in the race.

2012 was just Wiggins' year, as soon as the route was announced Sky worked to make it happen and left very little to chance just as they did for Cav in the 2011 Worlds... flat courses that suit sprinters dont come along that often so they developed a plan to get Cav in the rainbow jersey... I still watch those last ten kms now for the monster shift that Millar puts in.

I get the impression that Wiggins is not injured but upset that his Giro plans had went out the window. And as he is the defending Tour champion he also did not want to be a team player as opposed to a team leader and support Froome. Now this is only my opinion. (If he won the Giro he'd have been happy to play the team player role though to act the hero and repay Froome for last season.)
My guess is we won't ever know the full truth.
Besides that, I feel that Froome's performances are open to suspicion. I'd love to believe he is clean but it's hard to believe his rise from being disqualified in the Giro for cheating, to the best in the world in a small few years is suspect.
Besides that, I also think like last year for Wiggins, Froome really has no opposition. Valverde is good, but not a tour contender, Contador is not the rider he once was (maybe not on the sauce anymore) and Evans etc is on the downward trend. Plus Schleck is far from what he was before. Possibly the only rider to beat Froome, Vincenca Nibali is not at the tour after winning the Giro this year. (Nibali was good last year, he has improved this year I think.)
But this is just opinion.

I don't think Wiggins would have won the giro this year twas far too hilly, even the time trails and the tour is a tough one this year also.
I wish the other day there were more attacking Fromme but it was only that one in the white jersey, if there was attack after attack I think Fromme would have cracked after the big efforts the day before and no team mates. But maybe like you say none of the other main GC guys are in best form
