Recommend me a CO2 pump and canisters...

Well, I don't like frame mounted pump. Does the job but it rattles over bumpy surfaces, is slow, and looks cack, so looking at the Co2 ones.

Firstly, is it possible to get one that'll fit into a saddle bag? How good are they?

So how many canisters are you planning to carry?!
The genuine innovations ones are popular and the proflate elite looks the neatest.
I'd definately mount it on the seat post too...

Lezyne do several, mine is reversable for presta/scrhader measures about 2.5 cm^3 so yeah will fit in your saddle bag Just twist the cartridge in to puncture it unwist a quarter turn to release gas, fully inflated tyre in 2 seconds. pay a little more and get one with a trigger, or get one that the canister fits in, but more bulky and ultimately no better or worse.

I recommend not buying the Bikeshop number from Halfrauds. Its a piece of st. You are supposed to be able to top the inflate after using the CO2. You have to use a different value for the pump than you do for the CO2 and trying to get the stupid valve on without letting out most of the CO2 is impossible.

I have the Genuine Innovations one that is just a little valve that screws onto the CO2 bottle.

Screw on the valve, push onto the inner tube valve and press it down. Voila. It inflated in 2-3 seconds.

I have only used it once but it worked perfectly and getting the tyre so hard with a hand pump would have been almost impossible.

Most of the guys I ride with use 'em. No problems. Just be sure to use the little rubber cover on the canister and/or wear your gloves. They get VERY cold, VERY quickly
Cartridges: I just pick 'em up from whichever shop I'm in when I realise I'm running low.

Picked myself up an Air Chuck Elite, not in manufacturers packaging, with 10 cartridges, non branded but theyre all the same, for a 5er cheaper than i could get the inflator on its own anywhere else.

my only concern is that it pumps up really quickly....what about risk of pinch flats as i usually pump up to about 20PSI, check the tube, then pump up again.....?
