Scott Scale 50 2009, any good

Considering buying the above, anyone have experience with Scott bikes/the Scale range

I have a Scott Scale 10 from 2007. Prior to that I had a 1996(?) Endorphin Elite Racing.
Whilst neither are directly comparable to the Scale 50, I can say that Scott do make decent quality MTBs and you're not likely to go far wrong with one.

I've got a Scale 35 (2011 model) and it has been good for me. Nice and light, but it is now a bit like Trigger's Broom.... same broom for 15 years, only had 25 new heads and 12 new handles...

I've gradually replaced most bits and bobs after they have worn or broken. New wheels, new seat post, new rear mech, lots of new cassettes and crankset, new headset.

Not because they were particularly weak or poor quality, mainly through heavy use (probably do about 50 miles a week of heavy off-road riding, plus used to use it as my daily commuter doing 15 miles a day).

Carbon frame is still as good as new, but the gloss finish has got a big scuffed where my kneepads rub the top tube occasionally when throwing it around corners etc.

Forks need a service now...and I've worn most of the covering off the saddle!

Nice looking bikes, liking the retro, i'm thinking about a retro biuld already (grew up on Choppers/Tomahawks and Grifters, then Raleigh Burner, so nostalgia runs deep)

I've had this for a few years. It's a nice bike and rides very well. A good balance for general XC stuff.

I perhaps ought to sell it since it's bearly been ridden since i bought a rodie.
