Anyone here have any experience?
A new dealership has just opened down the road with some quite exotic road machines. They also do MTB which seem to be reasonably priced.
As per my previous thread about buying a starter bike I have managed to kill the hybrid I bought after three months and 500 miles, which as I purchased it at Costco isn't going to be a problem.
The cycling bug has bitten me but I still don't want to spend a lot more than £400, but again I don't want second hand. The Sterndale looks to fit the bill.I'm going to drop in tomorrow and have a look.

You are fairly close to the company. They are based in Derbyshire.
I have a 2011 Forme Stag mtb. A friend has a 2011 Forme road bike but I cant remember which one.
Both are OK. frames are good but not particularly light. Finishing kits are real bargain basement level. I think they brand as 123 but nuts, bolts, etc rust very quickly,
Unless you are getting a substantial discount I wouldn't look at getting one. In the same unit (but apparently a totally different company) are Moda who sell the next level of quality up.
Maybe the quality has changed. Whatever they are always for sale at 30% off on the web.
What type of bike are you after?
Lots of forme and moda bikes for sale in the local shops around here (midlands)
I have a Moda Rondo MTB and I love it. Got a great discount but having said that they are like a DFS sale, you must be a mug to pay full RRP.
The guys in my local shop race forme bikes and do pretty well, but I have never seen one close up yet.

Thanks but the Sterndale 2.0 is £400 in the shop.
Although this might be a moot point because I've just cured the squeak which was driving me barmy, it was the pedal not the bottom bracket.
The hybrid actually suits me quite well is perfectly comfortable on up to 40 miles of trails and green lanes and climbs as well as my friends mtb, it does struggle for grip though, though I expect different tyres would sort that out.

My girlfriend recently bought a Forme Sterndale 2.0 for £299 (last years model hence the price). For that money, it's a decent bike - its not offensively heavy, lock out forks, disc brakes, decent enough Shimano drivetrain for the money. Finish on the frame is decent, and IMO it looks pretty nice too.

to the OP, maybe you should start to consider the quality not the cost. There is a reason these are so cheap.

My point is that if buying a Forme bike there are plenty out there very heavily discounted.
