Camelbak for Kids

Any recommendations? I'm guessing the 'real' Camelbak is the the best, but it's pretty expensive at £40.

Also, my son is rapidly losing his milk teeth, so I'm not sure if the bite valve would be much good - presumably they are the adult sized ones which need a fair bite to work? Any alternataves out there?

You hardly need any pressure at all to open a Camelbak bite valve.

My son was given a kiddies hydration system but he's a roadie so he uses a bottle. I'll find out who makes his one and he'll want me to sell it to you so he can save up towards his dream bike....

TBH my Camelbak Mule is years old, so the valve might have hardened a bit.

If it is the case that the valve has gone off a bit you can buy replacement bite valves

I would always go for a CamelBak. I'm happy to pay for top quality!

My son has the kids 'skeeter' camelbak. It's a camelbak and as expected, works well. They're usually on sale somewhere online though. I certainly didn't pay full RRP for it. It's about £20 though not £40 or is that not the one you're looking for?

Just looking at the Skeeter on the Camelbak site.. Then saw the MiniMule:

Was looking at the Mini Mule, but the Skeeter would do, I thought it was only available in pink, but apparently in blue too.

Might try to find a Mini Mule a bit cheaper before buying though.

My son has a blue skeeter, it works great. £20 odd as opposed to £40 odd for the other one. It's up to you really. The skeeter is just the bladder though. No extra pockets or anything.

£20-odd is more like it TBH. Course, kids like pockets to put random stuff in, but another £20? Not really.

Hmmm. Was from Cycle Express (never used) but when clicked the link then says £33.75 and out of stock...

Dug out my kids unused hydration pack. Its made by Bell but the reviews are iffy and I think Asda sell them for threpence anyway so I doubt its worth flogging it.

Both my kids (8 and 6) have a mini mule. It's useful to have pockets so they can stash their gloves or hoodie (just fits at a push) if they get too hot.

They are expensive for what they are but they definitely work and they love them.

Jeez, wish my parents were into bikes. Just forked out 220 quid on a bike and now i'm going to order him one of these! Happy 8th birthday son lol
