I need some hybrid tyres quickly - halfords only option

Well I am doing the coast to coast next week using a boardman hybrid. I have been considering changing the 28c vittoria road based tyres for a while now to something more durable, grippy and possibly going upto 32c.
I had conviced myself that the tyres would be ok but after this mornings commute to work at 5.30am where I was 7 miles into a 17 mile journey and got 2 punctures in 200 metres whilst only having 1 spare tube I think i have changed my mind.
My bike is mainly used on sections of the c2c route close to where i live with some road use but would moving to 32c tyres slow me down much on the road? or would a slightly wider more grippy tyre make me more confident/faster on the bends whilst not slowing me too much?
Theres a halfords across the road from where i work so If i changed tyres i would probably just buy from there, so can anyone reccoment me som etyres to fit my needs?
I was thinking schwalbe marathon plus 32c would be an option or would a 28c increase my grip/puncture resistance enough?
Anyway open to PH to reccoment me some tyres of the halfords site!

2 punctures in quick succession is far more likely to be underinflation or not having remove the cause of the first puncture than any issue with the tyres.
Good point, to be honest i never thought of checking the tyre for the puncture cause due to being in a hurry to get the tyre changed and not be late for work!I was considering the wider more grippy treaded tyres anyway before today due to basically having zero confidence in carrying speed through the corners on the 28c road based tyres after coming off last year when the front tyre went from under me turning on some small/loose gravel.

Durano plus appear to be ver muc road tyres biggest i can find them is 25c too.Else Go for the lighter Schwalbe with puncture protection..I use the Durano Plus on my Road bike and have been puncture free as well.
People rave about the marathons but i am worried they will slow me down a lot.
Im no pro rider but i like to hustle along once on a cycle track.
Will they offer more lateral grip but at the expense of a lot of speed?

Just carry plenty of spare tubes, sods law clearly dictates that if you're prepared for multiple punctures you won't have any Else Go for the lighter Schwalbe with puncture protection..I use the Durano Plus on my Road bike and have been puncture free as well.
6 of us did C2C last September (St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay) and between us we had about 8 tubes and enough patches to make a new tube. Not a single puncture between us

Might get some of that gunk stuff. Does it work??
I was using Schwalbe Smart SAM but found them a little too knobbly and had a tendancy to feel a little unsettled in fast corners on tarmac as I moved onto the shoulders. Recently changes to Schwalbe Silento and tonight I had a proper chance to take on some dry farm tracks etc and they felt lovely, plus fast rolling.
As others have said, go for the Marathons if you want puncture free riding!
