Snapped chain!

Just setting off from a junction and bang! The chain went,lucky I was nearly home.
I thought perhaps a split link but in fact the link had snapped clean in half.
I don't think I've ever had this happen,anyone else?

Perhaps it's all the leg press and squat work in the gym!!

Owwww, I feel your pain. Count yourself lucky if you didnt go down. Only seen it happen once and my mate hit the top tube so hard. He was crying in agony, we were laughing so hard it hurt!

i always carry chain splitter then just insert split link.

On the PH cycling weekend, Louie's chain snapped catestrophically taking out his rear mech in the process! He repaired the chain but had to finish the ride on a single speed

Snapped mine a little while back. Broke my coccyx, had to bin the helmet and massively dented my pride.

Probably about three years ago and I still get pain.

Got a new one today in very blingy gold!

Not sure if it runs as smooth though....

Was it one of the Ultegra chains? There was a bad batch not long back, plenty of info on Google.

I had one go recently while out of the saddle at speed. The gravel rash has just about finished healing. Good job that I was riding solo at the time.

New chain is a Kmc with some fancy coating apparently.
Working well for now
