Is it just me, or is chamois creme bks? I've never felt the need. Or is it a case of once Iv'e tried I'll see the benefits?

Your legs, even on a short ride, turn 10,000 times. MAterial versus skin does not seem the ideal combination to me smile I use a bit of lube.

Long ride + rain = raw patches.

BodyGlide is worth a go - perhaps not quite as Rapha as Chamois cream, but I hate to think what they do to the poor Chamois in order to turn them into that stuff.

I've never felt the need, even doing a century ride felt OK. In fact, I couldn't think of anything worse. Sitting on the saddle with something sliding up and down my ass crack while pedaling. I'd just have the sensation that I'd st myself. Yuck.

That's my worry, I think it may feel like I've had a tricky fart.

Aka lumpy pump.

I never knew the stuff existed and therefore never knew I needed it. Now, I plan on trying it. I have had some rubbing on my inner thighs before....

Never used it before but I am doing a 4 day charity ride and it was mentioned. I got some as it was only about £4 so if it is no good nothing lost.

Would be interested to see if anyone has tried it though.

I used it the first time I did a 182km ride, after reading up and people saying that it was essential..

Haven't used it again and not had any issues!

Just don't fart. Bubbles floating through the bunch would be a distraction...

I've heard that sudocreme is good. Which is handy, seeing as we have about 20kg of the bloody stuff as the wife got carried away with buying it for our kids' nappies, at various times over the past 3 years!

Yes. It's a must for me. But I do spend 10-15 hours a week riding. Without I would get sores.

I've been intrigued by this since I've started cycling...so from a practical point of view...where do you put it? On you? The pad?

I put it on the chamois, other apply it to the skin - personal preference I guess!

When I came back to cycling last year I was oblivious to the existence of chamois cream. I started to get some chafing and resorted to Sudocrem because we had some in the house. It seemed to work pretty well for a while but I was still suffering some discomfort. At this point I ordered some Udderly Smooth from Wiggle and have never looked back, now on my second tub and it is way better than Sudocrem.
