i use a pair of ski gloves. worked fine at swinley last week in the snow and cold weather!
The problem with ski gloves is that the are too bulky and I don't think they would provide the grip I need!ewenm said:
I use a pair of SealSkinz gloves for winter riding (and skiing). For very cold weather I put a pair of silk liner-gloves underneath. Mine are a few years old so not sure what the current models are like.
Haven't really heard of SealSkinz, but looking at the website now they look pretty good!Gumstabber said:

I've said this before on here but the Aldi winter gloves are good down to 0c and fully waterproof to boot.
Yes, but there's no palm padding on them at all.Gumstabber said:

Yes, but there's no palm padding on them at all.I bought some water resistant gloves from www.cycle-clothing.co.uk for £17.99 and I bought some seal-skinz as a back up. Done the Straphpuffer this year, snow, ice, rain etc and the ones from cycle clothing were fine didn't use the seal-skinz

Gore Alp-X for me. Just enough padding on the palms and not bulky at all.
Not tested how waterproof they are but the Windstopper fabric helps a huge deal. Have ridden a few times in -2 or -3 and they are good for 3 hour rides.
Now if only they made socks in the same stuff - Woolie Boolies, Sealskins...none of them keep my toes warm

A word of caution on sealskinz gloves - some of them are utterly rubbish. Some are not. google before you buy!
My SealSkinz are pants. After a few washes the inner glove because 'un-stuck' from the outer. Swift, brutal surgery with a sharp knife has rendered them sort of operable as separate, layered gloves, but the remnants of the adhesive are a nuisance.<brag>Anyway, I'm a real man now; rode last night in a pair of boggo 661 gloves.</brag>
(And thought I'd lost my right thumb to frostbite by about half past eight.)

Yes I am!

The issue is that these gloves are used for street trials so your grip has to be absolute, so movements within the layers of the glove is a no-go. The material also has to be thin-ish so you can feel the brake levers, ski type gloves are just too think and soft!
