What do i do with my tired road bike?

my trusty road bike has definitely seen better days. partly due to being a cheaper bike which i've clocked up a lot of miles on, but mainly i've really done my best to not look after it (i worked as a bike mech part time for years, really doesn't motivate you to fix your own bike!)

i've started snapping rear spokes. 1 broke a few months back which i replaced. last week 3 broke on one hill, which left me riding home with no rear brake as it was too far out of true. the rear wheel is most likely knackered by now, its seen some real abuse

middle of last year the gears got mixed up with the rear wheel. the hangar, mech, chain and sprocket was all replaced, but its never been the same since. i suspect the dropout has bent, but i havent been to a bike shop to get it checked. its a bit of luck as to whether you get the right gear or not

is a 5 year old, bottom or the range BH flat bar roadie worth anything to anyone? is it worth fixing?

its not quite ideal for a fixie conversion, but its definitely something id like to try

alternatively, anyone want to tempt me with something shiny? my overdraft is only interest free for so long

Stick it on fleabay and be happy if you get £20! Lots of people look for that sort of bike to leave at the train station each day.

Convert it to SS and then wack on ebay. Should get plenty of people interested i'd have though. Should drag £50?

Sounds like a candidate for a permanant turbo trainer bike, thats where my old roadie sits
