Recommend me a rear light

Not all, I'm on my 3rd winter season of the Smart and 4th of my Ayup front light and still going strong.
Killed a Smart R1 in 1 winter. Exposure Flare is ok but the battery contact wore down and I had it replaced under warranty. Two cheapo Chinese ones lasted half a winter each. Still looking for something small/light/powerful. bumrar said:
I'm using a Lezyne macro drive and a femto drive as a backup. Both seem pretty robust, aren't 'ugly', and put out more light than is really needed
. Can't fault them really!
I had these previously but although they are lovely looking I wasn't impressed. Too many ridiculous flashing options to scroll through and not enough battery life. After a couple of weeks it let water in and died and I replaced it with a CatEye Rapid 3 which I much prefer.
. Can't fault them really! It's not as bright but still bright enough, runs forever on a single AA battery, lasted all winters commutes without the slightest dampness problems and is less than half the price. The best bit though is the usability: It has a recessed button that requires a long press to turn on, so it doesn't activate in my bag. It turns on in the same mode it was in when you switched it off. It only has three modes so that you don't have to endlessly press the button to change settings. All three of these modes are actually useful, not just eye-candy. I don't understand why so many other brands get these basics wrong.

Just ordered a couple of these http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/LISMRTR2/smart...
They are very good, and can be seen from space......I've got one of these attached to my saddle bag:
Cateye TL-LD150 CLICK
And one of these on my rucksack.
Fibre Flare CLICK
Both have been faultless and have done a whole winter on 2xAAA a peice.

Two Cateye 610s (I think), one for each bike, are super bright, last ages on two AAA batteries, survive the most grim conditions. Cheap too.
My 610 lasted less than one winter, but once one of our engineers stripped it and cleaned it all up, it was fine again. The light element is now sealed and wrapped in insulating tape. Hopefully that will keep the water out. I have a pair of lights on at the back and a single on the front. I also carry a spare front light in my bag, just in case the front fails.

I did have to do similar to an old one but these have been fine. That's in the most hideous, muddy, wet conditions known to man. Well almost.I have a pair of lights on at the back and a single on the front. I also carry a spare front light in my bag, just in case the front fails.
