Heads up - discounted/cheap sports nutrition stuff

Ribble pricing gets competitive at last.

I ordered 30x gels and a 1.6kg tub of powder from Fuel Sports about 6 weeks ago. Cost the same as Ribble are now charging, give or take fifty pence.

Go with the SIS stuff if it does it for you, but there are far better Gels & shots on the market for the same money, Mule Bar gels, GU gels, Torq gels to name but a few. Higher carb delivery per shot in all 3 of those than any SIS gel.

But they cost more? And if imagine there is an argument to the maximum you can actually absorb too.

Personally I think you can get most of the stuff much cheaper from my protein, they don't do gels but the drink stuff covers all the bases.

Depends where you buy from, I buy GU in bulk, errr that sounds wrong doesn't it, I can save around 40p per shot, I also buy in US when I'm there about every 6 weeks, I get through a lot, training for Ironman Wales.

Far better is subjective. I can't stand Power bar gels, the concentration of carbs is too high and they make me feel sick. SIS are spot on.

More isn't always better.

(Incidentally, it's the power bar gels at IM Wales, which I'm also doing!)

Yeah I saw Power Bar are the gels for Wales, well they were last year so probably best think about getting my gut used to them for the next 30 weeks instead. I find them sickly, but I think for me it's the flavours rather than the concentration of Carbs, who knows. Too many other things to worry about like 2500 metres of climb on the bike leg right now!

Favorite for me is the high5 gels - taste like a melted down pack of fruit pastilles mmmmm nom nom nom.

Sports supplement shop GNC are selling Lemon Gatorade Series Pro 02 350g powder (i.e. Lemon Thirst Quench) as used in Ironman Wales with a buy one get one for £1 promotion.
