Mountain biking in Vermont?

Evening all,

As per the title, has anyone on here ever been MTBing in Vermont? I'm in a position where I could go next year, would ideally take my bike which is a 140mm full sus would it be suitable?

Have watched a few Youtube vids and it look pretty good, the trails I saw were fairly swoopy flowy singletrack which suits me just fine.

Not sure why Vermont but I've always fancied going there and might be able to combine it with some good riding.

Vermont's an amazing place, I spent a few days in Kingdom/Burke between the MSA and Windham last year and loved it. The atmosphere around there's really chilled, kinda redneck but without the obnoxiousness that usually goes with it. Knight Ide, the guy who builds a lot of trails there, is a cool guy, and knows how to work a backhoe when it comes to the manmade stuff. But there's awesome shuttleable singletrack, xc singletrack, the works. I only had the M9 with me which was overkill for even the big jumps on the slopestyle-esque trails because the lips were so steep but even so it was fun. I borrowed a trail bike for the singletrack and it was just awesome. Maybe partly because it was 35+ degrees and it was a welcome change after the rain and cold of Quebec but I'd happily go back, it wouldn't take much to entice me. Check out www.mtbvt.com, there's a lot of stuff on there from memory (hazy, admittedly). Also, if you head to Burke then go to the old store opposite the bike shop; the roast beef sandwiches are amazing. It's a cheap place too, with some cool lakes to go jumping into after a day of riding. I'd say it would be pretty close to the top of the list if I get a green card...

You should go, definitely, and your 140mm bike would be perfect for it when you do.

Great info thanks for that, thought it looked pretty cool and it would appear from a very quick search on Virgin yesterday I can get flight's accomodation and a car for around £800 for the week which sounded pretty reasonable to me. Will check that website later.
