a reason to justify another bike?

Early last year it became apparent that long term, my road bike is not the ideal commuting tool due to the poor nature of many of the cycle paths taken in to work. I tried in vain to find a cheap solution, but my favoured one, the Vitus Vee-one 29er, went out of stock for the rest of the year.
I dreamed of many a shiny CX bike, but didn't have the cash to get anything that weighed less than a ton. Now, november has come around and with it, the work cyclescheme. A shiny CX bike (relatively speaking) has been ordered on the cheap credit route.
Trouble is the Vee-one 29er is back in Dee-one 29er 2013 guise.. and it has a space invaders decal on the top tube.. and theres even a disc version.
Am I allowed to get both?

There is always justification for another new bike. I currently have 3 in the spare room, another will be arriving in about 2 weeks and I have already decided what the one after that will be! Then the fun really starts, I need to start scheming as to what will be upgraded or replaced next!
I've given my wife a list of things I want for Christmas, all of which cost similar amounts to Liberia's deficit and none of which are cycling related because I thought, at the time, I had everything I needed (damn fool). She carefully ignored the Mercedes GL 4 litre diesel V8 and opted to buy me the Google Nexus 7. I'm happy with that. Very happy actually.
Then a friend showed me his new Ti-framed tourer, reminding me that I've wanted something a bit different for a while.
So, a quick look around at someone to build me a custom Ti frame (or an off-the-shelf one) and forks for 700 disc wheels with an Alfine 11 hub and belt drive and my spreadsheet is showing I need ~£2300, which is about £2050 more than everything on my Christmas list.
I'm going to have to sell something... not a bike (of course - that wouldn't work with the n+1 would it) but something's gonna have to go.
