Warning, pointless thread with ‘willy waggling’ potential!

So, don’t you love it when this happens;

I went out for a spin today, it felt like really hard work - I seemed to battle with a headwind or sidewind regardless of what direction I was pointing, it poured down with rain on and off for the first 20 miles, climbs felt like hard work, legs felt ok for the first hour then went to shi7, shoulders were killing me, all in all it didn’t feel like a great ride.

Got home, stuck the ride into Strava and the results didn’t reflect how I felt on the ride, managed 6 PR’s, 3 top 10 places, and I even bagged a local KOM!

Don’t you love it when that happens?? smile

Don't know frown I'm usually the opposite, ride feels great, get home and upload to find not even a single PB.

I found Strava ruined my cycling. Now I just go out and cycle for fun. Like it used to be!

I found that early this summer Strava was ruining my enjoyment of cycling so I made a conscious decision to only chase certain segments on certain rides, for the rest of the time I would just spin along. I had two segments I wanted to go for today - one I totally cocked up by taking a wrong turning, the other was OK - I managed to bag 9th place from 30-something previously.

Bloody hell! That's about 19mph, if my calculator isn't lying to me. Are you thinking about turning pro? I'd have been happy to keep above 15/16mph over that kind of distance. Good work!

Thanks yellowjack!

As for pro, I wished! A bit too old now, I think that ship sailed a couple of years ago! I was really surprised, the ride felt awful but looked OK on paper. It is odd how that happens, now and again I will go out and blow my lungs out of my mouth, confident that I will grab a few PR's or a few top ten places and the result is naff all!

Just staring out of the window at a glorious sunny morning wondering if I could get away with another spin before the weekend of wet and windy weather sets in....... smile

Ha, I found this when running.

Sometimes it feels great - everything is loose, legs are strong and I'm bounding along like Achilles!

Other times, legs are sore, I've got no form, back hurts and arms are numb. On these days, I sometimes get home and can scarcely believe how quick I've been! Often, others don't believe it either!

Nice once in a while, but if prefer the fun, comfortable runs.

Blimey wish my quick spin looked like this! Good work, am aiming to get quicker but think that may elude me
