MTB wheelset upgrade

Picked up a 2009 Scott scale 40 not so long ago which I have already changed slightyly. The wheels are currently fulcrum red metal 10's and at 1960g ish for the pair, aren'ticularly light. I'm fairly easy on bikes and routes in my area do involve a fair bit of road so looking to shed some weight wheel wise as opposed to something bordering on bombproof. Any ideas for a budget of 200.00 (a link to go with would be nice).

personally i would go with SLX hubs on XC717s

which would come in under £200 and be a pretty good wheelset for the money. might not weigh much less but will be bombproof and last for ever. what you are doing however, is reducing the rotational mass which will help.
If you can spend a bit more, Hope Pro 3 hubs are awesome. remember to add in skewers, rim tape, tubes, tyres and whatever else is necessary.

I recently had a set of wheels built with the Mavic XC717 Rim (for V brakes, remember them? 
)and Deore hubs. They came in at about 1800g for the pair if I remember correctly and less than £200
They have transformed the bike handling compared to the old Mavic 217 rims (about 15 years old!) and are marginally lighter. I think the main improvement is the even spoke tension (whilst still being round!) rather than the multiple re-trued originals.
I had them built by Chain Reaction Cycles as trying to find V brake rims on line was challenging, and the LBS wanted about a million pounds to build a set...
