Yeah reported it and it's insured so will be fine on that front.I'm just round the corner from Hoebridge golf course so it's not the crap side.
I've called a couple of the bike shops in case they get offered it for re-sale. I have zero expectations of getting it back but would be good to catch the thieving b
d if at all possible.I've not had it long so it's only likely to be someone along the road somewhere which makes it worse really.

Keep an eye on Ebay and Gumtree.
Sorry about your loss. F-ing scum.
This. Sorry about your loss. F-ing scum.
http://bikeshd.co.uk/ has all new listings from both.
Good article here: http://www.londoncyclist.co.uk/what-to-do-if-bike-... too.
Thanks for the advice guys.
I just realised this morning that they stole my track pump as well! Haha...who steals a pump?! You have to laugh really.
The insurance company have been great...all I have to do is pay the excess and I'll be getting a replacement bike but the 2013 model, including the additional bits that were on the bike (pedals, cadence monitor, garmin holder).

That's good news. Who are the insurer, out of interest?
Mine's kept indoors and on the house insurance, but always good to hear.
I'm with AXA, and luckily it was covered under contents insurance (didn't have a specific policy for the bike). I'm assuming because it was stolen from the garage.Mine's kept indoors and on the house insurance, but always good to hear.

John, sorry to hear that.
I'm not far from you.
If you're 6 foot and promise not to lose it, you are more than welcome to borrow one of mine,
Also got a Frame going spare but it is a 61cm.
I appreciate the offer but wouldn't want to take a chance that anything happened to it but thanks for the kind offer. I'm not far from you.

My excellent use of man logic just means I'll be off to the LBS to buy something else

It's listed under an exclusion and they made a mistake by saying they would pay and even going to the point of already taking my excess.
Any chance that you have something in writing from them, agreeing to pay out? Could you try to hold them to their decision to pay, as some sort of contract? Might be worth trying to get some advice on the matter, as it sounds like a lot of money to be out of pocket.Back when two of our bikes disappeared outside the central complex of Centreparcs in Elveden Forest, my insurance company accepted our claim, but then I got a call from a manager in the claims dept, telling me that the claim handler got it wrong - I would need to pay the excess on both bikes, as they were both locked separately to the rack, and each theft was treated as an individual claim. I'd previously been informed that only one policy excess was due, as it was one claim. I read from my transcribed notes, and told the claim manager who, when and what was said, and they let the claim go through as it was. What helped significantly was the fact that I'd been insured with them for a long time, and it was my first claim, so there was a fair element of goodwill.
Might be worth a punt, as you have recourse to the ombudsman, and ultimately, a court of law can overrule a company's terms and exclusions if they are deemed to be in breach of contract (verbal or otherwise). Or you might be on a hiding to nothing (I'm no legal expert). Either way, nothing ventured......

I'm going to write a letter and see what comes of it, I'm not holding out much hope though.

Yep thats where I was going to head. I normally chat to Andy so will see what they suggest.
Andy's brilliant, Him and a mate have contests to see who ride their fixie's up the steepest hills.
He does Staples on his.
You ever go on the Sunday ride outs?
Will def head out in the new year and maybe before if they ride all year round.
Where's Staples? On one of my early rides I rode down to Box Hill then made the mistake of coming back via Coast Hill and Newlands Corner...legs were like Jelly!
