winter N+1

Having only bought some carbon last month in the shape of a Cannondale supersix 105, im now thinking of finding room in the garage for a winter offering. When I got rid of my Boardman I thought of keeping it for that purpose but the lack of clearance for full guards meant that it would have been a poor option for winter.

I've now been offered a Tiagra shod Equillibrium for a very reasonable sum so I'm strongly considering it. Haven't told the missus yet and not sure if its a great idea to. I just don't know whether I can justify it myself!

Someone talk me in or out of it.....

just buy it and hide it in the garage and if questioned refer to it as "oh that old thing" cmoplete with mudguards and racks....the nice thing about genesis is the subtle graphics so they dont shout "look at me i'm an expensive race bike"

Just fit some crud race guards to the Boardman. Work a treat on my Allez.

Two months on and I've still not been asked why a blue bike with red tyres is now a white bike with black tyres. They never notice, or if they do they simmer over it for a very long time.

Come to think of it, she's stood right next to both road bikes and still not said anything. Perhaps she thought it was the MTB that lives on the opposite side of the garage under a dust sheet.

Nah she's too clued up about my bikes to not know that 2 mysteriously became 3 (MTB and Road currently). Plus, the washing machine is in the garage, as is the fridge freezer so she's in there just as much as me!

I'd love a caad10 as a winter bike, but have a cross bike that is perfect as a winter / commute bike already (its my currently commuter), and i have a 29er that i'm yet to build up...
Maybe next year...
