Tell me about... biking in the Midlands

Hey,
I've just got a new job and I'm set to move to Nottingham next week. I would love to take my bike but is there much point?

I currently ride a Cove G-Spot and I prefer to be pointing downhill rather than up. Trails are great, jumps are good and some climbing is acceptable. Something comparable to Glentress or Innleithen would be perfect.

So what can the midlands offer me?

You're also going to be close to the Peak District with some of the best rides in the country (in my opinion).

I guess it's decided then that I will be taking my bike along. Today was my last day working in a bike shop so I was able to stock up on some new parts

nottingham uni had a good mtb club, always travelling so cant be miles away from anything

I live in the peaks. Some excellent mtb'ing. Very different to down south single track stuff. Tougher in most ways. Pretty much destroys my MTB every year! You can be from notts to peak park pretty quick.
