How to find the history on your classic bike?

Hi all,

I've been restoring my fathers Holdsworth bicycle which he was using for racing during the 1980s. I've been trying to find out more about what model it is, exactly when it was made etc... There is no name for the model on the bike, only the manufacturer name.

I could give the frame number, which is 007666

I've looked online, but can't find any sort of register...

Seeing the Holdsworth name reminded me of Bob Addy , pro cyclist.

He took us for games when we were coached from Wandsworth School to Herne Hill.

I still remember his first words of caution before we were allowed out on the track bikes " if anybody starts messing about and playing games on the track , I will come out there and put them over the banking "

Nobody ever doubted his words either.
