Shoe sizing

Just looking to purchase my first pair of road shoes. For some reason Shimano and dhb both show UK 10 as Euro 45.5 whereas all my shoes show UK 10 as 44.5...anyone noticed the difference? Anyone else a UK10?

I'm a UK 11 for normal shoes and I needed a Shimano 48 - they do seem to come up quite small.

I'm usually size 11-12 and need size 48 in Shimano shoes, they're very narrow fitting. I'm size 46 in Scott or Vittoria shoes and 47 in Nikes.

Shimano come up small - I had to send my chinese foot-binding ones back and ask for the next EU size up

I'm usually a 9.5 or 10 UK size, the DHBs I've just got are marked as a 45 and come up just a little large. My old road shoes are John Luck (circa mid90s) and are 43 whereas my Sidi MTB shoes are 44.

Wiggle appear to be good with returns, perhaps order one of each size?

Shoes are very personal. I would pop into a shop and try a few on.

I am a 39 in standard shoes and a 41 in Shimano.

i have 45 dhb commuting shoes and in normal shoes i can be from 10-11 usually shimano i didnt find comfortable even at 47

Shoes arrived. Fractionally large but not over;y. Comfy too. New pedals on bike so looking forward to my first ride out going clipless.

Make sure you un-clip well in advance of traffic lights and junctions to begin with. I remember a few comedy moments falling into the side of vans and buses when I first went clipless!

after my first crash i took the tension right down and now im slowly increasing it to make sure i can still get out
