Trying a road bike?

Does anyone know of a specialist bike retailer close to South West London where I can try out a road bike please? I've had mountain bikes for 15 years and my current one doesn't work well on-road so I'm tempted to take the plunge, but ideally would like to see how it feels before buying.

To save you the bother it will be cramped, uncomfortable, twitchy and very very fast and very very addictive

I switched from MTB to road 6y ago
My first ride was shocking, I couldnt believe how horrid the bloody thing was, and it didnt have enough gears either
I got off after 30 mins in a very sorry state of exhaustion and fear

I currently ride my roadie 10x more frequently than my MTB although if youre in the SE the roads here are a lot nicer - but then so is the MTBing
