Bike carrier recommendations

Need to carry two bikes on the back of a small hatchback (Alfa Mito) next month. Prefer the high-mount design so that I don't need a lights/numberplate bar.

Any suggestions? The cheaper the better, although clearly I don't want my beautiful bike borked and bouncing down the outside lane of the M3...

Having just completed nearly 1000 miles to France and back with a Saris Gran Fondo I can't recommend it highly enough. Holds two bikes, secured via the wheels and doesn't block the number plate or lights.

Saris Bones was the best one I have had, much more secure than the Halfords ones
