Second hand full suspension frame prices.

I have been thinking about building another bike, one for rough trails through the old mine working we have here in west cornwall, there are some cracking trails through all the mine spoils and i don't want to ride my nice commuter bike on them.

I have been looking at ebay and asking at the local shops but there eiter seems to be a shortage of frames (shop has none) or the price is high (ebay)

I was watching a 2004 Specialized Enduro Expert and it went for £256.00 ! I know it is supposed to be a nice frame but it's 8 years old now, Others have gone for less if they were worn or incomplete and some fetch even stronger money.

Is there a good supplier of decent used frames anyone could point me in the direction of ? I am just over 6 ft with long legs and find my old 21 inch UniVega perfect.

Or does anyone have a nice frame unused and for sale ? I dont even care about the paint as I am going to blast it and paint it matt black, no dents and good welds are my only real needs.

CRC occasionally have some incredible deals on old stock new frames. Before Christmas I bought an MY2010 Turner 5 spot for £750 - that's a nearly 2k frame - and a Kona Lisa Full sus for £175.

Tell me about it, I to have been looking for a second hand frame or frame/fork combination to rebuild and am amazed that even Y frame short travel Marins/treks that were <£800 new fetch £200-300 and still require a rebuild.

My issue is also that for some reason only tall people have full suspension as the number of 17/18/19 inch frames is far higher than 15 which is what I am after.

You should do alright, it always seems that the big discounts are for frames sized at the extremes of the curve - XXS and XXL. I saw a bloke out at Ashton Court on a lovely AM Canyon jobbie. It was far too small for him but he'd got it helf price so was well happy.

I just picked up a Giant Trance X 2011 frame from a Giant dealer in the US for 750 USD, came in the original, un-opened box with factory warranty. Don't be afraid of ebay.com Same guy sold med and large sizes too.
