Any recommendations for wide shoes?

Hi all,
This will doubtless delight Swerni as an opportunity to make more accusations of old womanliness!
I have two sets cycling shoes; one pair of Shimano shoes, and one pair of Northwave boots. The cleats on both pairs are set to move the shoes as far out as possible, but I'm still getting tingliness and later numbness on the outside edges of my feet in the Shimano shoes.
They feel perfectly comfortable just walking around, but are really unpleasant after around 20 miles in the saddle. Compared to the Northwaves, they are noticeably narrower. Not by a huge amount, but pretty obvious when compared side by side.
I am therefore thinking I maybe need a wider pair of shoes - the Northwaves are far too hot for year round use - and was wondering if anyone on here has had a similar experience and could recommend shoes worth considering?
Budget up to around 300.
ETA - They also need to be SPD cleats (not SL)

Like these but I have silver I think, got a very good deal for them, they'd been sitting in a glass cabinet for a while at my local Giant shop for a while, too expensive I assume, they offered me a good deal on them, I bought them, didn't realise how good they were.
Had them a year now, and they are wearing well and very comfy, I occasionally get a bit of tingling, but it's due to doing up my straps too tight, just loosen a little and feeling returns.

Kermit, what Northwave boots do you have? I went through a similar problem a couple of years ago. I ended up going for a full on fitting and foot fitting. Spent a fortune on some Shimano R310 custom fit etc. Felt fine at first then still getting pain after 1.5 hrs in the saddle.
Got recommended to pop in and see the foot guy at Condor. He took one look at my feet and said, need wide shoes. He suggested Northwave and I went for some Aerlite SBS. They've been fantastic and would definitely recommend them. I only use them during the summer/spring time.

i have wider feet also and find specialized shoes fit me, they are german i think (??) and germans share a similar physique to us brits so may be worth a go, certainly more realistic than italian brands
I have rather wide feet as well and all my cycling shoes are specialized, mtb and road. The S-works stuff really is superb quality and good value, at least when compared to some of the Italian offerings!
What you need are some shims.
If you have pinching pain on the outside of your foot, it means that your pedalling technique, knee/leg position forces your power towards the outside of your foot.
You need to shim out your shoe with angled wedges that are thicker on the inside of your foot, which in turn helps to spread the load of your pedalling accross the rest of your foot.
Specialised do shims.
Another option, that really helped me is a set of custom foot beds by someone who knows what they are doing and listens to your symptoms.
New shoes might not help.

I have a set of Sgimano shoes that really cramp my toes, I also have a set of Northwave boots that dont so I went on the hunt for some northwave shoes. Ended up with Speshs MTB sport shoe, 3 velcro straps. Straight away they are comfy, not tested on bike yet but they are a lot wider on the toes

I'll echo khushy's comments above. A custom footbed is well worth it and depending on how you pedal you might need some shims/wedges.
I'd go get a bike fit somewhere if you haven't already. Personally I'd recommend Cyclefit in Covent Garden. Great team that know their stuff. Oh and pure bike porn on the walls.

Well, unless I can persuade them to give me my cash back tomorrow, that was an utter waste of 25 quid!I tried them on the way home, and not only did they not solve the problem, they made it 10 times worse!
Where previously the problem came in at around 20 miles and was tolerable, this evening I had to swap them back out after less than 2 miles! So much for the Specialized heat sensitive foot pad thing!
