Brake pads worn out - solved (n+1 content)

After a couple of rocky all day rides in the dales recently the brake pads on my carrera fury had just about had it. What pads to get? hmm.
After a bit of head scratching, part of the solution arrived today
£70 off with the current web offer saw it @ £929 delivered and built to my local store. There they set about it with im sure the best of intentions.. to their credit they did reduce a shock pump to half price and include a can of gt85. since I got it home I have :
Removed front reflector
Removed rear reflector
Removed bell
Removed wheel reflectors
Removed pedal reflectors
Sorted out the brake and shifter positions
Dropped the bars down 3 spacers worth on the steerer
Adjusted the saddle height
Adjusted the pressure in the forks + rear shock - both set for someone more rotund in nature to myself.
Still to do :
See if I can be bothered to sort the brake hose lengths
Helitape.. maybe. I'm not the most gifted at applying it neatly
Check gear indexing
Ride it!
Oh, and also still to do :
fit the new brake pads to the carrera
Then get some deores to replace the juicys on the carrera
Then fit the juicys to my old v-braked gt avalanche.
All told I should have completed the brake pad change for about £1150 once I've got the deores fitted to the fury!

Front and rear deore 596 brakes to go on the hardtail with the worn out pads, along with new rotors (why are xt cheaper than the basic deore?). Mounts to suit
New disc specific wheel to go on my ancient gt avalanche (rear wheel previously replaced as it was square). This will get that bike upgraded to discs using the juicy 3s coming off my carrera fury hardtail
And some new spd pedals for the boardman.
Questions remaining :
Are the hubs on the fury 6 bolt ones.. I hope so as thats what I've ordered
Do I want wider bars on the boardman
