I am trying to commute into work around 17 miles of which about 6 is on the road and the rest on a canal path. The canal path is atrocious in places.

I am not worried about speed and am looking to fit either in a 700x25 fitment.

Which one would you recommend for longivity an puncture protection?

Thanks

Marathon plus and bigger than 25c as the majority of your journey is on canal path.... If it is gravel then you don't want slicks like durano as you'll find it'll dissapear from under you and a 25c will not be very comfortable unless the canal path is pristine... I'd go 32 or 35c if you can fit them if not then 28's, but each to their own.

700 x 32 Marathon Plus.

Used them for commuting and for summer off road use over the loam and flint of the North Downs.
