Looking to upgrade my 2010 rockhopper soon

I am looking for a full sus bike between £1000-1500 budjet. I mainly ride trail centres and some xc routes near where i live which mix trail/fell tracks and roads.

Up to now the favourite is the canyon nerve xc 7.0 at about £1400 or a giant anthem x4 2011 model for about £1150.

Anybody got any other suggestions?

Me and a friend were both in a similar situation recently.

He picked up a Nerve AM 6.0 whilst I found a great deal on a 2011 Stumpjumper FSR Comp ... we're both more than happy with our purchases, the bikes ride totally different to each other mind, best to try a few if you get chance to see what you like.

Ed,

If you are considering a Giant Anthem X4 2011 model, I happen to be selling my exact same model, bought in May 2011 after buying a Yeti by mistake.

I have looked after the bike an a very OCD way, cleaning it with a toothbrush after every ride, lubing and oiling where appropriate. Ony ridden round the chilterns, no jumps so suspension is in fine form.

Looking for around £900 for it, but open to sensible offers. I can send some pics if interested.

Let me know what you think.

GIANT Trance..........very capable, well built, slightly more relaxed than the Anthem so is quite comfy going down as well as up.

Might be an idea to ride a couple!

I know Halfords have a poor rep, but the Boardman full suspension is worth a look and within budget.

Bit of a left field choice but genesis will be doing a full suspension steel bike sometime in the spring I think

I can strongly recommend Canyon. Haven't ridden the XC but my AM has been great. Quality of frame and level of components is incredible for the price.

I'd seriously suggest the Giant Trance X4, two mates have them and they've been bomb proof, Alps, Welsh trail centre's and ridden locally atleast once a week and a fair bit of jumping and DH. It seriously makes me wonder why I've just spent twice that on an Orange!
