Racers Guild at Cannock Chase

Some of you may remember my thread asking where I could find downhill mountain bikers to feature in a film I'm making.

As part of the filming I went up to Cannock Chase on Sunday with a mate and managed get some decent footage.

Here's a quick edit that some of you might like.

How do you manage to avoid the trees whilst running and looking sideways..?

I live 2 minutes from Cannock Chase, you come all the way from Yorkshire just for the Mountain Biking here? Commitment!

The steadicam moves aren't too big in terms of area covered but the longer camera moves are on the cablecam which runs between between two trees along a piece of rope.

I'm a student at Staffordshire University so the Chase isn't too far away. Cracking event though, will definitely be returning.

Great video Mark,love the tracking cable cam shots.

As you are using Dslr to film some of the footage can i ask what you are using to edit the video with to get such good results?

I've had a dabble with some video using my 550d and CS5 Premier pro but struggle to get import/export settings right?

Thanks for the feedback chaps, will bear in mind your thoughts on the music for next time.

Personally I use Premiere Pro CS5 as well. Most of the footage was shot at 1080p 30fps with the slow motion stuff at 720p 60fps so it could be slowed down to half speed or further.

Also I encode using the Adobe Media Encoder in H.264 MP4 format. As a rule of thumb I tend to use an exporting bitrate of at least 8Mbps.
