One less thing bolted to your handlebars but I'd need to try one I think.
How easy are they to shift? Too easy and you're shifting when you don't want to especially when climbing/descending and you're shiftiing your weight around, to hard and you'll be shuffling your hands around and that won't be fun. In my mind it seems easy to flick a thumb/forefinger rather than twist my whole wrist.
Am sure SRAM have this all sorted though, especially as it looks to only be available on their top end kit.

i used to like it though the first iteration wasnt called "grips
t" for no reason... it was fitted on my old cindercone and it always worked pretty well. the biggest gripe was the non shifting part of the grip was tiny but it took a positive twist to change gear and you couldnt really change by accident. fixing a gear cable at the trailside wouldnt have been fun but thankfully i never needed to.

I'm still using my original ones...
Biggest problem (despite new cables) is hysteresis the 'index' is in a different place going up or down, which can make you jump two cogs at the back when you really wanted one. Then a gentle nudge (but not so far as to make it click) will get you the gear you wanted.
I'm looking to change mine for something, but as I'm using 7 speed on the back my choices are limited!

I liked them too and never really understood the objections to them.That said, I'm happy with the Shimano and SRAM set-up on my bikes. They seem to work well too.
I'd be happier with a derailleur-less shifting system though as I keep bashing mine. Maybe they should concentrate efforts at the rear rather than the shifters?

I'm waiting for a gearbox bike with the heavy bits mounted low in the frame, at a decent weight, at a decent price. I ran an Alfine hub for a couple of years until I broke it - loved it at the time.That said, I'm happy with the Shimano and SRAM set-up on my bikes. They seem to work well too.

On the subject of Gripshift/twist shift, that's one aspect (other than the price...) that put me off the idea of a Rolhoff internal-gear hub. Bloody twist shift.
