I can see my results for a given segment in order of fastest to slowest. Is there a way to change this to date order to see progression?

Nope. You can filter by year/month but it will still rank the leader board by time.

Click on 'my results' on the left and it will show you all your attempts at that segment with date and time etc. should be able to see improvement that way.

Look at you with your vast range of KOMs! smile I think I might get a bit fitter before revealing my dreadful middle of the table performances! hehe

Either that or I need to petition them to introduce some weight categories other than varying degrees of scrawniness!

If you click on the 'explore' menu on strava, select the clubs sub menu and search for Pistonheads there is a 'casual' club setup - I joined today!

One slight problem I have with this is that I am sceptical as to the degree of traffic light adherence shown by some of the leaders on some of the London commute runs!

I may well be doing a gentleman by the name of Paul Brooks a complete disservice, but I am pretty convinced that even top pro riders would struggle to maintain an average speed of 21.2mph along the 5.3 miles of CS7 between Colliers Wood and the Oval if they were stopping for all the red lights!

If you get a good run it's easy enough. I am getting closer to the magic 20mph avg, I think I'll manage it in summer.

The segments along embankment are similar, just takes some good fortune with the lights smile

I have to admit that I stop for reds, but I ride the Thames Valley and Chilterns most of the time, not the congested streets of London town!

I managed to average just above 20mph for the first 20 miles of my ride today, but then hit a vicious headwind that slowed me down for the last 13 miles home and dropped my average to just above 19 mph. Happy enough with that this time of year, but hope to be much quicker in the nice weather - wouldn't mind joining a club and trying my hand at racing this year (erm, think I may have said that in the past......)

Over shorter segments, sure, but nobody keeps that sort of luck up for over 5 miles and 60+ sets of lights, do they?

Even if he managed to only be stationary for a total of 30 seconds, that takes his average speed up to around 22.5mph, and that includes getting back up to speed, filtering through traffic and everything else we know and love on our morning commuted.

Even I can hold 20mph+ for the length of Clapham Common Southside, but surely not
over such a long distance?

Ah I see it.

Nah he's legit, I think you might be underestimating how fast some people ride smile

I'm not suggesting he didn't cycle it, and I realise it would be a relatively slow speed on a closed road with no stoppages, but I just don't see how it can be done on that particular stretch of road unless you're jumping red lights?

Maybe he does what i do and stop my watch when i stop for red lights or level crossings? I just pause it!

You can't do that on Strava, it measures the time taken between two points and works the average out that way, so no allowances for stopped time etc.
