After a bit of advice before buying a new bike, something I failed to really seek before buying my current mtb.
Been riding this for about 2.5 years and, whilst it's been a decent enough bike, it doesn't really seem enough now that I'm taking mountain biking a bit more seriously.
Budget is circa £1,500. Scope to go a little higher if a great bike is suggested a little over budget.
Seem to have heard good things about the Canyon bikes recently but came across the YT Industries Wicked 150 which looks pretty cool - anyone on here got experience with one?
Quite drawn to the YT Industries at the moment because of the looks - the Canyon just looks a bit boring.
Most riding is local singletrack but the bike will need to be decent enough for trips to a few trail centres that I want to visit this year.
Want to make sure I make the right choice before parting with this much money.

I'd whole heartedly recommend the Ghost AMR 5700, have had mine 18 months and tackled various trail centres i.e Afan, Glentress, Dalbeatie, and regularly the Surrey Hills, regularly ride Bedgebury Forest which is a fairly easy blue and it does that with aplomb. Recently did the Forest of Dean new Blue trail and then some of the DH it's only on the Dh it felt a bit out it's depth. I've started to ride more DH and upgraded to an Orange 5 but know I'll miss the Ghost when I sell it.
Also think the 2012 colours look awesome, just had my 2010 frame replaced under warranty on it and i'd say it looks better than ever, and the spec is brilliant for the £.

I've just been in a similar situation. I was all set to order a Canyon Nerve AM but then found brand new stock of a 2011 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp being sold at a great price.
OK it's last years model but then it's a grand cheaper than the 2012 model. I like the Specialized brand (current have a Hardrock) and I agree that the Canyon looks a bit dull.

Judging by how many I've seen knocking around the trail centres and in the woods they've been nicking too many sales from Spesh's more expensive bikes.

Leisure Wheels often don't have stock despite their website saying so, I ordered my FSR Comp from online there and then got told they had no stock.
