After suffering a couple of really crap installations in Russia I finally landed one that I actually wanted to do. It meant missing Hillingdon and a club hilly race but with the snow and freezing cold weather I think this will just have to do
Rode the track a couple of times today to make sure the bike was ok after the long trip in the box. Good job as the rear wheel bearings dont seem in very good health and down the hill it was wandering enough for me to back off. Its open to the public so the last thing I want to do is to oversteer into a car coming the other way on my first day here. Its just shy of 4 miles long and climbs 560 feet from the pitlane onwards. Quite a collection out there today; utes, Goldwings, classic dukes and the obligatory imprezaru crowd. They are all limited to 37mph, I say they I mean 'we' although 50mph is possible just about, wish I had standard instead of compact here!
I plan to do a couple of laps in the morning then head out into the country in the evenings. It was a bit of a faff to lug the bike along but its great now its here. January and February are non-drinking for me this year which means no beer on this trip. Originally it started with a bet, this bet didn't factor in Sydney and now Bathurst but sod it, I made the deal so I will stick to it! The pay off so far has been a kilo a week since January 1st which has helped me up hills no end and is paying off generally in respect to cycling. Target was <78kg but I am aready under that so maybe I will hit 75kg?
Finally I have made contact with the local bike club have a meet so I will tag along with them if possible....I might even go to work if I can fit it in with all the cycling

A few links for anyone that is interested. Might update this if there is anything going on here.
